About the Department

The Department of Orthopaedics at CIMER KGF is dedicated to providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care through excellence in patient care, medical education, and research. As one of the core clinical departments, it offers high-quality clinical training to undergraduate (MBBS) students in accordance with the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum.

The department provides diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, including fractures, trauma, joint disorders, sports injuries, spinal disorders, congenital and developmental deformities, arthritis, osteoporosis, and other musculoskeletal diseases. Comprehensive care is delivered through outpatient services, inpatient management, emergency trauma care, surgical interventions, and rehabilitation, including physiotherapy.

Supported by experienced orthopaedic surgeons and modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, the department emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient safety, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Students gain hands-on clinical exposure through ward postings, operation theatre training, fracture management, and academic teaching sessions, preparing them for competent clinical practice.

The Department of Orthopaedics is committed to advancing patient care, fostering research and innovation, and serving the healthcare needs of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) and the surrounding communities with compassionate and quality orthopaedic services.
