The Department of Community Medicine at CIMER KGF is dedicated to promoting preventive, promotive, and community-oriented healthcare through excellence in medical education, research, and service. The department provides comprehensive training to undergraduate medical students in community health, epidemiology, public health, and the prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, in accordance with the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum.

The department actively participates in community outreach activities, including health awareness programs, immunization initiatives, maternal and child healthcare, adolescent health, geriatric care, screening for non-communicable diseases, family welfare services, and school health programs. Through rural and urban field practice areas, health camps, and community-based learning, students gain practical exposure to public health challenges and healthcare delivery systems.

The department collaborates with government health agencies in the implementation of national health programs and regularly observes important public health events such as World Health Day, World Immunization Week, World Diabetes Day, World Breastfeeding Week, and Global Handwashing Day. These activities encourage student participation, foster community engagement, and strengthen the department's commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community.
