About the Department

The Blood Centre at CIMER KGF is committed to ensuring the safe collection, testing, storage, and distribution of blood and blood components to meet the transfusion needs of patients. The department functions with a strong focus on quality, safety, and adherence to national regulatory guidelines, providing reliable transfusion support for emergency, medical, and surgical services.

The Blood Centre is equipped with modern facilities for donor screening, blood collection, component preparation, compatibility testing, and storage of blood and blood components under controlled conditions. Services include whole blood collection, blood component separation, blood grouping, cross-matching, transfusion-transmitted infection (TTI) screening, and issue of blood and blood components for patient care. The department promotes voluntary blood donation through regular awareness programs and blood donation camps while ensuring the highest standards of donor and recipient safety. It also supports undergraduate medical education and clinical training in transfusion medicine and blood banking practices.
